Mat Pilates is a low impact full body workout with an emphasis on core strength, typically done on the floor but with some occasional standing or seated exercises. Mat Pilates also works on posture, flexibility and balance. This is suitable for those who are perhaps new to Pilates or those simply looking for a slower pace.
This type of Pilates is widely used because it is easy to do almost anywhere! Not only this, but mat Pilates can meet most individual needs due to its low impact and versatile format. Here at LV Pilates, we promote ‘listen to your body’ and consequently adapt movements as required. In our mat Pilates sessions we will also occasionally add in the use of equipment such as resistance bands or Pilates balls.
